The South Shore Locavores will offer three summer film programs from June to August as the group takes a break from its regular series of monthly programs held at the Beal House. The series, a collaboration between the Kingston Public Library and the publishers of edible South Shore & South Coast magazine, will resume in September. Colchester Family Farm and The Jones River Landing Environmental Heritage Center join the group as sponsors of the summer programs. Offerings for the summer are three food films: “What’s On Your Plate†June 21, “Dive!†July 18 and “My Father’s Garden†Aug. 15.
"What's On Your Plate?" screening: the movie screening follows a potluck for members of the Colchester Neighborhood Farm CSA. You can come early for farm tours from 2 to 5 pm, join the potluck from 5 to 8 pm, or just come for the movie at 8 pm.
Colchester Neighborhood Farm, an 8-acre Baystate Certified Organic Farm is also a National Bicentennial Farm as sanctioned by the state of Massachusetts.
